The Sole Of Our Existence

Oh Kolkata! What was said as the take-off from our purpose of creation on the inhabited earth, had turned into an abrupt change. This clamored for attention. Just like a foresight on the shortcoming of everyone's character. It had shown that those amazing qualities we possess, is as a result of where our egoless self opted in. Truth. We have been set free by the knowledge given freely to us. Though, we still need to understand the knowledge. This inspires! Another team member echoed.

After 8 weeks of a thorough planning, we boarded a flight to Kolkata, India. The former capital city of India before it was moved to Delhi by the British Emperor. It is known for her grand colonial architecture, art galleries and cultural festivities. These prompted us, into searching and educating the new breed of leaders growing up in the slum. We drove from street to street, looking for where those who shadowed off their existence on earth lived (the poor, less privilege, rejected, helpless, widows e.t.c).

The next day, after much strives, we decided to give up the search because of the low outcome. But at the last ride, before the road leading to Tiljala Dharapara's residential, we met a man that was in his mid 30's named Mr. Aditya. A farmer who lived there.

Mr. Aditya took us to a barely get-along-street, down the block. Next to Grumble Alley. We have heard about Kolkata's slum, but it became a vice versa to our sight. On our way, we saw starving children and adults searching for a daily bread to staying alive. The emotional nerve had aroused goose bumps on our skin. As we were introduced to Mr. Brahma's family, who is an ardent fisherman. We camped in his house for 3 weeks.

Mr Brahma has a son who is intelligent and talented in craft, but was in a different field. He schooled at the community high school about 90km away from his home, where he walked consistently forth and back from school. After 2 days of arrival, he took us to where the youths within the neighborhood assembled to showcasing their talents. Thanks to anyone who gives willingly to encourage others..

We were opportuned to holding a leadership talk with the youths, and it was exciting because we saw in them, the eagerness of becoming a leader. Their eyes were opened to the opportunities that seemed looming around them. The youths of Tiljala Dharapara's residential were happy, in becoming the leaders they have always loved to be. Be involved in every good service, because you are a sole contributor to the joy of others. Every slum has a diamond that is needed to be mined, so others could see its value.
