Employee Rejection Is Not An Incompetency

Not me!!. The employer shouted when Mr. Duke asked of the why he felt unfit for the job after a lot of preparation.

Mr. Duke a native of Aberdeen, migrated to New Zealand with his 58 years old mother where he studied management in the Lincoln University of New Zealand.

He got his first job as an assistant manager in a mini restaurant close to the mountain walks of the city. It lasted for 4 years, but the experience gotten from the behavior of the market ranging from clients to employees to the tone in the market place reflected a managerial skill.

The mini restaurant ran into debts and a lot of the key workers were sacked because they could not fund their stay.

Mr. Duke being a naive man developed a skill at helping others get a good job from the neighborhood irrespective of its miniature. A lot of frustrated sacked employees also seek guidance in their job hunting, and he willingly offered them a stretched arm .

He was loved by all because not only did he built the managerial skill but also the personality.

He finally applied for a job at a consulting firm for a managerial position.

After the interview, the employer  stretched out his hand and handed over the credentials to him on a refusal. He demanded for an answer on the refusal but the employer yelled at him.

He came back and went through all the profiles to ascertain the mishaps and there was none but he still felt uneasy.

He waited for another 5 months in the disarray of its refusal on the former application. 2 days after the appointment, an employment mail was sent and opened it to find a resumption letter but there was a mistaken position from what he applied.

He took it and went back to the human resource manager for further clarification and was told that after the board of management reviewed all credentials submitted, they found him to be the most qualified and with the skill possessed so they assigned him to a higher position.

Often times, when an employee Its  been rejected from a job offer, we think is an incompetency but some possess a better skill more than those employed.

That poses a question in our mind that employee's rejection is a symbol of ill luck or incompetency?.
